The Myth of Affordable Housing

When compared to other metropolitan areas in the state, homeownership in the Rio Grande Valley is high and home prices are substantially lower. To outsiders and individuals in higher income brackets, this creates a false impression of an accessible and affordable housing market, – a myth of affordability.
